A GoFundMe page created by family friend Kristine Primeaux states that Mason “Mase” Salera passed away on Monday, June 23. The purpose of the fundraising was to assist Mason’s mother, Amber Salera, in caring for her four surviving children—Mya, Sophia, Ace Ah, and Gerald—and laying her son to rest.
According to Primeaux, “Anyone who knows Amber knows how much she loves her kids.” There should be no parent forced to bury their kid.
Nearly 100 donors contributed over $4,300 to the fundraiser as of Tuesday morning, June 25. Five thousand dollars is the target.
The close-knit neighborhood was devastated by Mase’s unexpected death, and family friends came together to support the bereaved mother and validate the fundraiser’s legality.
A buddy posted on Facebook, “I went to high school with Mason’s mom and aunt.”
“I don’t want to live without my baby,” Mase’s mother, Amber Salera, posted on Facebook. “God please come take me too.”
Ridley Middle School, which Mason attended, has not responded to the news of his untimely death. As of Tuesday, neither his funeral plans nor his obituary had been made public.
The family and the school have been contacted by Daily Voice for additional comment. Statements can be sent to [email protected] via email.
