Maria Messina Wins $1M Powerball Prize On Long Island
A fortunate woman from Long Island has an additional $1 million.
Messina Maria.
According to the New York Lottery, Maria Messina of Aquebogue won the seven-figure reward after correctly matching the first five numbers in the Powerball drawing on March 26.
Messina’s golden ticket—which didn’t require a chocolate bar—hit every number but the red Powerball, which would have given her the entire prize.
Following the necessary deductions, she left with a one-time payment of $651,000.
Her life-altering winning numbers? Powerball 06, 05, 20, 29, 39, and 53.
Messina bought the fortunate ticket at Hampton Bays’ Kings Hampton Bays C-Store, which is situated at 239 West Montauk Highway.
Last fiscal year, the Powerball game in New York brought in over $576 million in total sales, with over $273 million of Lottery Aid to Education proceeds going directly to Suffolk County school districts.
