2 Residents, Firefighter Injured In Late-Night Hackensack Blaze

On Thursday, July 3, two homeowners and a fireman were hurt in a late-night Hackensack fire, according to fire officials.

Around 10:30 p.m., crews from the 3rd Platoon of the Hackensack Fire Department arrived at a working fire on Fairmount Avenue close to the Maywood border, according to Deputy Chief M. Christensen.

According to Christensen, firefighters promptly extinguished the fire before it could spread to the second story after discovering a fully involved bedroom on the first floor.

According to officials, two residents were injured, one of them critically. Additionally hurt, a firefighter was transported to the hospital.

Hackensack Fire Prevention is looking into the fire, but authorities say it doesn’t seem suspicious.
