2 Stabbed In Suffern: Suspect Caught With Help From K9 Unit, Police Say

According to police, two persons were stabbed in Rockland County in what they are describing as a targeted incident involving acquaintances.

The Suffern Police Department reported that police were called to a complaint of two stabbing victims in Suffern at approximately 7 p.m. on Friday, July 25.

Officers on the scene started providing assistance and conducting an initial investigation right away.

Officers from Mahwah and Ramapo Police, including Mahwah Police K9 Rino and handler Officer S. Hayes, quickly located and apprehended a suspect after conducting an item search at the crime site and discovering a weapon thought to have been used in the assault, according to Suffern Police.

According to the police, there is no public threat because the suspect and the victims knew one another. The identity of the suspect was kept secret.

According to authorities, the investigation is still underway and formal charges will be brought when it is finished.
