O Shea Copeland, 23, Killed In West York Shooting: PD
On Saturday, August 16, authorities reported that a gunshot outside a West York apartment complex had left one guy dead and another critically injured.

Around 8:20 p.m. on Friday, August 15, a 23-year-old male was shot on the first block of Highland Avenue and was later declared dead at WellSpan York Hospital, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.
According to the coroner’s office, Deputy Coroner Onalee Gilbert arrived at the hospital to conduct an investigation and certify the death. On Monday morning, August 18, Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown has scheduled an autopsy.
Matt Millsaps, the chief of police for the West York Borough, named the victim as O Shea Copeland. At 8:50 p.m., he was declared deceased.
Another victim, who was in their early twenties, was shot and sent to a medical facility. According to Millsaps, the person who was first listed in critical condition has since been stabilized.
The incident was preceded by an altercation outside the Carriage Apartments, according to police. While investigators worked the site, West Market Street, West King Street, and Monroe Street were closed Friday evening at approximately 9 p.m.
Authorities think the unidentified suspects were acquainted with the victims. Police claimed there is no threat to the public and that the shooting was not random, but no arrests have been made.
According to the York County Coroner’s Office, the matter is being looked into as a homicide.
