The Metropolitan Police Department declared that Charles Rucker is a person of interest in the shooting death of 3-year-old Honesty Cheadle.

According to authorities, Cheadle was shot at approximately 3:03 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, while she and her family were seated in a parked automobile in the 1000 block of 14th Street SE.

Rucker is wanted by detectives for interrogation in relation to the shooting, which resulted in the girl’s death two days later.

MPD is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information that results in an arrest and conviction, and he is included on a recently published wanted homicide poster.

According to MPD Chief of Police Pamela A. Smith, this is a tragedy for Honesty’s family as well as our entire city. Our detectives are putting in a lot of effort, following up on a number of leads, and will stop at nothing to apprehend the perpetrators of this shooting.
