Due to a fire threat associated with defective filters, thousands of well-known off-road vehicles are being recalled.
Polaris recalled two recreational off-highway vehicles in June 2025.
Approximately 4,900 recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs) in the United States are being recalled by Polaris, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday, June 18. 330 ROVs sold in Canada are also impacted by the recall.
Water seeping into the high-voltage charging harness due to a fractured filter is the problem. That might result in a fire or short circuit.
There have been 47 reports of filter failures to Polaris thus far, including four reports of sparking or smoke and six instances of melting or fire. The CPSC reports no injuries have been reported.
All 2023 and 2024 Ranger XP Kinetic ROVs as well as all 2025 Pro XD Kinetics are part of the nationwide recall. The Pro XD models have gray plastic body panels with black frames and accents, while the recalled Ranger XP Kinetic vehicles were sold in white and camouflage.
Each one has three seats and the word “Polaris” is displayed on the front grille. The left rear frame, beneath the cargo box, has the vehicle identification number.
From April 2023 to March 2025, Polaris dealerships around the country sold the cars for $24,000 to $37,500. They were all made in the United States.
To arrange a free repair, Polaris is advising owners to get in touch with an authorized dealer. According to the corporation, it is getting in touch with all registered owners and offering advice on how to keep driving their cars safely while repairs are being done.
