According to Maryland State Police on Friday, June 20, Christian Ramos, 28, of Aurora, Illinois, was detained in Cecil County and is charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder along with associated firearm offenses.

Just before midnight on Wednesday, June 18, troopers say Ramos opened fire on a Toyota Prius carrying three individuals, including a youngster, as they were driving south on I-83 close to Shawan Road in Baltimore County.

When the victim discovered his automobile had been fired, he dialed 911. There were no injuries.

According to police, investigators discovered a projectile stuck in the front seat and a bullet hole in the passenger window. When the bullets were fired, Ramos was allegedly operating a tractor-trailer owned by Tag Trans Inc.

Ramos was apprehended without incident after being located by Highway Gun Crimes Initiative detectives at a TA Travel Center in Elkton.

According to the authorities, a loaded.45-caliber handgun, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and several expended round casings were discovered during a check of the truck.

In addition to being detained in Cecil County, Ramos is also being jailed there on an unrelated handgun accusation.

According to officials, he is awaiting his first court appearance.

Ramos may possibly be linked to three further shootings that occurred along Pennsylvania’s I-83 between 10:00 p.m. and midnight that same evening, according to police.

The Pennsylvania State Police are looking into such situations.

Anyone who drove along I-83 in Maryland or Pennsylvania that evening and could have dashcam footage or information is being asked to phone 410-538-1887, according to Maryland detectives.
