Trump Says Iran Warned US Before ‘Very Weak’ Retaliatory Missile Attack

President Donald Trump implied that the war might be coming to an end and claimed that Iran had given the US advance notice before attacking US forces in the Middle East with what he described as a very feeble missile strike.

Trump claimed earlier in the day that Iran had fired 14 missiles at Al Udeid Air Base outside of Doha, Qatar, in a Truth Social post on Monday afternoon, June 23. It is the largest American military facility in the Middle East, housing over 10,000 US personnel and acting as the forward headquarters for US Central Command.

One was “set free,” Trump claimed, “because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction,” while the other thirteen were knocked down. He went on to say that virtually no damage was done and that no Americans were hurt.

Trump claimed that the US airstrikes he authorized on Saturday, June 21, hitting three of Iran’s nuclear sites, were the direct cause of Iran’s missile launch.

He expressed gratitude to Iran for providing us with advance notification, which allowed for the avoidance of fatalities and injuries.

Following the launch, Qatar closed its airspace and halted aircraft, and the US Embassy in Qatar issued a shelter-in-place notice. According to Qatar’s defense ministry, the missiles were intercepted by its air defenses, resulting in only minimal damage and no casualties.

According to a source cited by CNN, Iran also gave Qatar advance notice.

Trump hinted that the back and forth might be coming to an end.

Trump added, “I will strongly encourage Israel to follow suit, and perhaps Iran can now move forward to Peace and Harmony in the Region.”
