Tree Trimmer Crushed After 30-Foot Fall On Long Island Job, Police Say

Police on Long Island said Tuesday, June 24, that a tree trimmer who was working high above the earth was crushed to death in a gory fall.

At approximately 4:15 p.m. on Monday, June 23, the 32-year-old was chopping branches on Woodstock Court while he was positioned approximately 30 feet above the ground when both the limb he was standing on and its supporting limb abruptly broke, according to Nassau County investigators.

He was severely injured when he fell to the ground. He was declared dead at the scene by a medic from the Nassau County Police Department.

According to authorities, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Homicide Squad detectives are looking into the tragic fall.
