Gun-Toting Trio Park At Police HQ, Caught After Shooting Threats In Beacon: Cops
After a loaded stolen pistol was found outside a Dutchess County police station following shooting threats, four men—including a teenager—were taken into custody, according to authorities.
The police station is located in the parking lot of Beacon’s Municipal Plaza, where the suspects were discovered.
According to Beacon Police Chief Thomas Figlia, the event happened on the morning of Friday, June 20, after Beacon Police received two different reports about gun-related arguments and threats.
The Beacon Train Station was one of the venues. When officers arrived, they saw a suspect running from the area. He was apprehended right away and turned out to be sought in Beacon on a warrant. A car thought to be connected to the previous altercations was later seen by police in the lower lot of Municipal Plaza, right outside the police station, while that suspect was being processed.
Three additional male suspects were in the car. When police inspected the vehicle, they discovered a loaded Smith & Wesson.380 handgun that turned out to have been stolen from Georgia. According to Figlia, all three were taken into custody at the site.
Alfredo Robles, a 20-year-old Beacon resident, was captured as the first suspect and taken into custody on an active warrant for third-degree assault, second-degree criminal contempt, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The three individuals in the vehicle, a 16-year-old kid from Poughkeepsie, Kaihron Thompson, 20, and Malachi Cornwell, 19, were all charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of stolen property. All of them were detained until their arraignment.
