Grace Clark Dies In Jet Ski Crash On Great Sacandaga Lake
A young woman lost her life in a jet ski accident on Fulton County’s Great Sacandaga Lake, and tributes are flooding in for her.
On Monday, June 23, Grace Clark lost her life in a jet ski accident on Great Sacandaga Lake.
According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Grace Clark, 21, was murdered on Monday evening, June 23, when the jet ski she was riding collided with a pontoon boat just north of the Broadalbin Boat Launch.
The 29-year-old Schoharie County man who was Clark’s passenger survived the collision and is still being treated at Albany Medical Center. There were no injuries on the pontoon boat.
While the jet ski’s speed is still being investigated, an initial inquiry revealed that the boat was moving at roughly 20 miles per hour. According to investigators, there were no indications of drug or alcohol use during the collision.
Rapid water rescue squads, fire departments from multiple counties, dive teams, drones, and emergency medical workers all worked through the night as part of the massive multi-agency response to the tragedy.
Fulton County Deputy Coroner Sherry Brown declared Clark deceased at the spot.
Clark, who is originally from Texas, attended and graduated from Schenectady’s Schalmont High School. The family is surrounded by love and sorrow at City View Church in Scotia, where her father, Greg Clark, is the main pastor.
Karen Laing, a family acquaintance, said on Facebook that Grace was a really happy person. Everywhere she went, she brought joy and vitality.
I shall always miss our chats and humor, said another buddy, Tahea Marie. You were among the most lovely, kind, and gifted individuals I have ever met. Rest in peace, Grace. We shall always miss you.
