Two Found Dead Inside Fort Lee Home, Prosecutor Says

According to officials, two bodies were discovered inside a Fort Lee residence on Wednesday morning, June 25.

Deputy Chief of Detectives Jeff Angermeyer of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said that at approximately 11:37 a.m., officers from the Fort Lee Police Department were dispatched to a private property on 14th Street to conduct a welfare check.

Police discovered two people inside the house who were not responding. According to Angermeyer, both were declared dead at the site.

A collaborative investigation was started by detectives from the Fort Lee Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. The Bureau of Criminal Investigations from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office also came to help.

According to Angermeyer, the fatalities are still being investigated. No other information was made public.

Chief Matthew Hintze of the Fort Lee Police Department and Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office are handling the case.
