‘Double Go F Off:’ Bay Head Brunch Spot Owner Sounds Off After Price Complaints
A now-deleted video from a recently launched brunch eatery on the Jersey Shore is causing controversy after staff members were heard discussing affluent patrons’ complaints about exorbitant rates.
Taylor Sam’s, located at 58 Bridge Ave. in Bay Head, has opened.
In the video released by NJ Advance Media, a Taylor Sam’s Bay Head employee states, “I just had two rich people say they’re never coming back here because our prices are double [REDACTED] were.”
The restaurant that was once housed in the same location before Taylor Sam’s took over and formally launched a week ago is referenced by the redacted name.
Despite praising the food and calling it “excellent,” the patrons reportedly claimed they couldn’t defend a “$40 breakfast.”
The employee said that the customer informed them, “It’s very unfortunate because we’re local.” That’s unfortunate, I thought.
“The wealthier you get, the less money you want to give away,” the employee continues.
The worker may be seen conversing with owner Dawn Spivak later in the video.
Have you inquired about the physical location of their bodies? “Spivak says.”
The worker seemed perplexed.
Baby, this is Bay Head. Spivak goes on, “Location, location, location.”
The average cost of a house in Bay Head is $3 million, per Realtor.com.
The quality and flavor of our dishes are doubled. You can f off and double go.
Spivak’s husband, Scott, gave NJ Advance Media the following statement after Taylor Sam declined to talk to Daily Voice:
According to reports, Taylor Sam posted an apologetic video on TikTok but later removed it. Taylor Sam’s is personally apologizing to Bay Head residents, Scott Spivak told the newspaper, adding that “it’s been rough.”
