After being struck by a car while riding his bike on Route 10, the 21-year-old man passed away from his wounds, but his last deed was to give others another chance at life.

Colin Robertson and his family

According to Morris County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Meghan Knab, Colin Robertson, a 2022 Roxbury High School graduate, was hit by a Subaru Crosstrek on Monday, June 16 at around 9:15 p.m. while crossing Route 10 East close to Hillside Avenue. He passed away on Monday, June 23.

Robertson was taken to Morristown Medical Center in critical condition after he was caught crossing the street on a bicycle. A week later, he was dead.

The Subaru’s driver stayed on the scene and was unharmed. There are no charges pending. The Roxbury Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office are still looking into the crash.

According to a GoFundMepage set up by Katie Goeke to support his family, Robertson was an organ donor who saved five lives. His friends remember him for his love of bargain shopping and drumming.

According to the fundraising, the Robertson family has suffered an unfathomable loss. The money raised will assist with funeral expenses and offer some respite from the loss of income, enabling the family to concentrate on Colin’s memories and rehabilitation.

As of Thursday, June 26, the total amount raised was over $5,000.

According to the GoFundMe, the Robertson family is incredibly appreciative of the overwhelming support from friends, neighbors, and the larger community. No matter how small the donation, it will help them get through these challenging times.
