New Haven Man Twice Violated Protective Order, Beat Victim In Ansonia Home: Cops

Authorities say a guy from New Haven is again in custody after he broke into a house in Ansonia twice in violation of a court order, first to break in and then to assault the same victim.

According to Ansonia police, Darryl Giles is charged with several offenses related to the two alleged attacks on June 16 and June 24.

Giles allegedly broke a protective order by forcing his way into the victim’s house during the first incident.

According to Ansonia police, he was accused of first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree burglary, and violating a protective order.

Investigators claim that eight days later, Giles broke the order once more and struck the victim so forcefully that they sustained severe facial and head injuries.

He was taken into custody by police on June 24 and charged with first-degree criminal trespass, disorderly behavior, operating under suspension, second-degree assault, and violation of a protection order, according to authorities.

According to Ansonia police, he was detained on a $500,000 bond.
