Severe Storms Packed With Dangerous Winds Moving Across Northeast: Here’s Latest

In advance of a powerful cold front, a storm system full of violent storms is moving from west to east across the area.

There have been reports of thunder, lightning, torrential downpours, and gusty winds of 60 miles per hour or higher in certain areas. There have already been numerous reports of power disruptions.

It should settle down by the end of Tuesday evening.

The National Weather Service predicts a period of more calm weather as drier air moves in behind the front.

The forecast calls for largely sunny conditions with seasonable temperatures and reduced humidity for Wednesday, July 2, and Thursday, July 3.

The forecast for Friday, July 4, Independence Day, predicts pleasant weather with plenty of sunlight, moderate temperatures, and less humidity than usual for the season.

It will be warm and largely sunny on Saturday, July 5.
