Teen Caught With Loaded 9mm ‘Ghost Gun’ In Ramapo: Police
Police claim a 17-year-old Rockland County resident was discovered with a loaded ghost pistol while responding to a domestic dispute, and he is now facing firearms charges.
An image of the ghost gun was released by the police.
When Ramapo Police officers arrived at a town residence on Thursday, June 26 in response to a reported domestic disturbance, they uncovered the discovery. On Monday evening, June 30, the agency reported that during their investigation, investigators discovered the teenager in possession of a 9mm ghost gun that was loaded with eight rounds of ammo.
Privately built firearms without serial numbers are known as “ghost guns,” which are prohibited under New York law and difficult to track down.
According to authorities, the teenager was taken into custody and charged with both criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon. He was processed and released on a Superior Court Youth Part attendance ticket.
