Vital Rescue Equipment Stolen From Cockeysville Fire Station, Officials Say
Following a break-in that resulted in the theft of critical rescue equipment from its fire engines, officials in Maryland have placed a firehouse on high alert.
Volunteer Fire Company of Cockeysville
According to the Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Company, located on York Road in Baltimore County, the burglary occurred early on Thursday, July 3, when no employees were there.
Colleen Hawkins-Ball, president of the Fire Company, said in a statement that the stolen equipment is essential for emergency operations and, worse, might be utilized in future break-ins or to inflict more damage.
The building was appropriately guarded at the time of the incident, she claimed, and the police are currently looking into the matter.
The public is being urged by officials to report anything suspicious, particularly if they see someone using fire department equipment or rescue gear that doesn’t appear right.
We simply want to remind everyone to report anything they notice, Hawkins-Ball stated.
No more information was immediately made public.
