On Wednesday, July 3, at around 11:04 p.m., Damon Robinson, 41, was driving a black 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe when he allegedly swerved off the road and collided with a picket line at 3901 N. Delaware Avenue, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

According to authorities, the casualties were city workers who were taking part in the walkout and were seated in front of the line when they were struck.

One employee is still in critical condition. After receiving treatment, the other was set free. There were no injuries to other picketers.

Officers were frantically hailed down by witnesses, who pointed to the escaping SUV. At 2900 Castor Avenue, police apprehended it and took Robinson into custody while driving. While a passenger was questioned and then released, he was taken for a DUI test.

According to police, Robinson, of South 2nd Street, is accused of aggravated assault, DUI, and other associated felonies.

To undergo forensic examination, the Tahoe has been towed. East Detectives and the department’s Crash Investigation Unit are still looking into the situation.
