Man Followed From Crash, Stabbed Repeatedly In Vicious Franklin Square Attack: Police

Nassau County police said on Sunday, July 6, that a guy from Lakeview is suspected of repeatedly stabbing another man following a car accident in Franklin Square.

Detectives say that at 4:31 a.m., they were called to a residence on Franklin Street in reference to a 20-year-old guy who had several cuts all over his body.

According to authorities, a suspect followed and confronted the victim after he was involved in an automobile accident earlier that morning. According to authorities, the man was stabbed with a sharp weapon during a quarrel.

After being transported to a nearby hospital, the man’s status was described as stable.

The culprit was ultimately identified by detectives as Rashawn Marquez, 34, of Lakeview’s Eagle Avenue. He was taken into custody without any problems.

Marquez is accused of:

  • Felony Attempted Murder.
  • Felony Assault.
  • Misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
  • Misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

First District Court in Hempstead will hold his preliminary arraignment on Monday, July 7.
