Kushner Breaks Ground On New Development At Site Of Westminster Hotel In Livingston

Kushner Companies, a real estate company owned by President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, is building a posh residential complex on the site of a former hotel in New Jersey.

On Thursday, June 26, construction on the 280-unit Livana Livingston project at 550 West Mount Pleasant Ave. formally began. The Westminster Hotel was built on the location of the property after Kushner Companies bought and renovated a disused Travelodge motel there in 2003.

The project turned become a community destination and a notable asset in the family’s hometown, according to RE-NJ. According to RE-NJ, Livana will include a building for those 55 and older as well as 56 affordable housing units.

The 55-and-up building will feature a fitness facility, a game area with pickleball courts and billiards, among other amenities, according to NJ Advance Media. A cinema room, a speakeasy, a pool, a party room, a gym, and more are features of the all-ages complex.

A nearby parcel that once housed the former Somerset Regal Bank building is also part of the 9-acre site.

In addition to Livingston and Colts Neck, Livana has facilities in East Hanover and Fair Lawn, with more planned.

Kushner has been contacted by Daily Voice for more information.
