Heath ‘Spicy Hellcat’ Gorenflo Seriously Injured In Accident

After suffering a severe, bizarre accident that left him hospitalized and unable to work, Baltimore’s “favorite shreddy mohawk-ed drumming bartender” is temporarily out of commission but not off his game.

Partner Amie Ward called the June 28 accident that badly injured Heath Spicy Hellcat Gorenflo, a well-liked local mainstay behind the bar at Dutch Courage, “one of the most freak and metal AF incidents imaginable.”

Gorenflo suffered a 10-inch cut across their head, a damaged back, and a shattered right foot as a result of the event.

Their sense of humor and the support of Baltimore’s punk and service industry groups remain intact despite the catastrophic damage.

According to a GoFundMe created for the drummer, Heath lacks health insurance and will be unemployed for some time to come. We are collecting money to cover Heath’s further medical expenses, lost income, and to make sure they can fully recover before going back to work as a bartender (at Dutch Courage).

Even if Gorenflo’s recuperation can take some time, friends and supporters are taking pride in little victories.

After he heals, they may still use their left foot to play the double bass pedal on the drum equipment, and he assures them that the mohawk will regrow.

Heath wants to reassure everyone that they are in a good mood and that their capacity to joke hasn’t diminished in the slightest, according to the GoFundMestates.

According to the fundraiser, Ward, the organizer, has been living with Gorenflo at their house on Chestnut Avenue in Baltimore for the last two and a half years.

In her article, Ward—a self-described boss bitch who looks after my people—remarked that Gorenflo is sane, not being held captive, and that she completely supports the effort.

After watching the terrifying ER films they insisted we watch, Ward commented, “Heath is an anticapitalist anarchist absurdist angel who dislikes money but recognizes the need for this measure at this time.”

Other people have contributed their own memories and tributes.

Forever traversing the United States and playing in clubs, Heath Gorenflo was a straightedge punk drummer. In 2023, he was interviewed by Mo Herms of the “Music & Booze” podcast. They assumed they would sling rum and cokes to make ends meet when that way of life grew old.

“Now they’re bartending at Baltimore’s Dutch Courage.”

Ward and friends posted pictures of Gorenflo playing with their hairless cat, Ovi, exploring the outdoors with their trademark mohawk, and smiling with a bandaged head in a hospital bed.

According to the fundraiser notes, as of Monday, more than 225 donations had raised $17,252 of the $25,000 target, however we are unsure of the precise expenditures.

“Heath is an amazing person,” Tyler DiMarco stated. Please think about lending a hand.
