Road-Raging BMW Driver Opens Fire In Virginia With Child In Car, Teens In SUV: Police
According to Virginia State Police, a guy who was traveling with a little child in his own vehicle opened fire on a father in front of two teenagers during a road rage incident in Fairfax.
Information on the shooting is being sought by Virginia State Police.
The gunman in the unsettling June shooting on I-395, which took place in broad daylight and involved children in both vehicles, is currently being sought by police.
According to Virginia State Police, the incident started at approximately 9:12 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11 along Interstate 395 northbound close to Route 236 in Fairfax County. The driver of a brown 1999 Chevy Suburban may have struck a black BMW 5-series vehicle.
At the intersection of I-395, I-495, and Route 644, both cars proceeded down the interstate until they pulled off onto the shoulder.
It got out of hand at that point.
The victim was shot once after a confrontation, according to a statement released by VSP on Tuesday, July 9.
At the time, the victim was operating a vehicle while carrying two teenagers.
According to authorities, the suspect, a 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6 African-American male dressed in blue or green work pants and a white t-shirt, drove off in his black BMW while carrying a small child.
At Van Dorn Street, he was last observed getting off I-495.
With injuries to his arm and leg, the injured motorist drove himself to a hospital. None of his teenage passengers suffered any physical harm.
