Murder Of Betty Conley At Charlton Store Mystery 32 Years On
Her killer has not been brought to justice more than thirty years after Betty Conley was shot and killed while working at a convenience store in Saratoga County.
On July 8, 1993, 37-year-old Betty Conley was shot and killed inside the Xtra Mart on State Route 67 in Charlton (seen in 2023) in Charlton.
Around three in the morning on July 8, 1993, a murder occurred at the Xtra Mart on State Route 67 in the town of Charlton. Sheriff’s officials said that Conley, 37, was killed after being shot once in the head while working an overnight shift.
Before leaving the site of the murder, the shooter took an undisclosed sum of money from the register.
Investigators were informed by witnesses that they saw a white male in the vicinity at the time who was between the ages of thirty and thirty-five, around six feet two inches, and of medium build. He had shoulder-length blond hair and was clean shaved.
Additionally, there was a white automobile from the mid-1980s that might have been a four-door and had spot rust on the driver door that was partially primed.
