Pilot Killed In Lancaster County Plane Crash After Takeoff From Myerstown: Police
A pilot was killed when a small plane crashed in a Lancaster County cornfield shortly after takeoff, Northern Lancaster County Regional Police confirmed on Sunday, July 20.

The aircraft went down near the 500 block of Stauffer Road in Warwick Township at 7:59 a.m., just east of the Lancaster Airport runway, according to a police release. The plane had departed from an airport in Myerstown only minutes earlier.
First responders from multiple agencies rushed to the scene, including the Warwick Emergency Services Commission, Rothsville Fire Company No. 1, Lititz Fire Company, and Lancaster County Coroner’s Office. The Lancaster Airport staff also assisted.
FlightAware records show the plane departed from Myerstown in Lebanon County at 8:29 a.m. and crashed within minutes. Authorities say the pilot, who has not yet been publicly identified pending next-of-kin notification, was the only person on board.
FAA records list the aircraft as registered to Flyward LLC. In a statement to Daily Voice, the FAA said:
Police say the crash scene will remain locked down by Northern Lancaster County Regional Police until the FAA and NTSB complete their investigation.
