Undercover Prostitution Sting Nets 4 Arrests In Woodland Park: Sheriff

Authorities said Friday, July 25, that four women were taken into custody after an undercover prostitution investigation at several spas in Passaic County.

Susan Dayana Morales, 35; Kyung Ja Kim, 63; Haili Wang, 39; and Ling Jiang, 64.

According to Passaic County Sheriff Thomas Adamo, the undercover operation happened in Woodland Park on Wednesday, July 23, in response to multiple allegations of suspected prostitution in the neighborhood.

Undercover officers were sent to many massage parlors by detectives from the Woodland Park Police Department and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Chief Michael Brady claimed that instead of receiving a typical massage during the operations, detectives were paid for sexual favors.

According to Adamo, the $13,653 that the authorities confiscated during the search is thought to represent the proceeds of illicit activity.

The sheriff stated that all suspects were charged and released pending a court date:

  • Ling Jiang, 64, of Woodland Park, was arrested at Eastern Cozy Spa, 271 Overmount Ave. She was charged with promoting prostitution.
  • Haili Wang, 39, of Woodland Park, was also arrested at Eastern Cozy Spa and charged with soliciting prostitution.
  • Kyung Ja Kim, 63, of Woodland Park, was arrested at Sunlight Spa, 1000 McBride Ave, and charged with soliciting and promoting prostitution.
  • Susan Dayana Morales Roa, 35, of Ridgefield Park, was arrested at Beauty Medical Center Spa, 281 Browertown Rd, and charged with soliciting and promoting prostitution.

According to Adamo, the Sheriff’s Office and its municipal partners continue to place a high premium on upholding laws pertaining to matters of quality of life.
