On Thursday, July 24, Orange County DA David Hoovler announced that 26-year-old Cameron Williams of New Windsor had been sentenced to 18 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision. On March 27, he entered a guilty plea to first-degree manslaughter in relation to the fatal assault.
Prosecutors claim that the event took place in the vicinity of West Parmenter Street in Newburgh on October 13, 2024, at approximately 10:45 p.m. Following a fight, Williams grabbed a few kitchen knives from a neighbor’s house and went up to a man who was on the ground. After that, he fatally injured the woman by stabbing her several times.
Williams then acknowledged in court that he stabbed the victim with many knives with the intent to cause him severe physical harm and death.
Following a prompt investigation, the City of Newburgh Police Department identified Williams as the suspect and placed him under arrest.
