Stick Scores Second Season Renewal On Apple TV+
Stick is an eight-episode series that Apple TV+ announced was renewed for a second season just as the first season finale aired.
Stick, available on Apple TV+, stars Owen Wilson as Pryce Cahill and Peter Dager as Santi Wheeler.
The ensemble cast of the performance includes Marc Maron, Judy Greer, Mariana Trevio, and Lilli Kay.
The sports comedy, which follows Owen Wilson’s character Pryce Cahill, a washed-up former golf pro who stakes his future on coaching a troubled adolescent phenom, Santi Wheeler, played by actor Peter Dager, received a slew of positive reviews before the renewal was announced on Wednesday, July 23.
Stick, which has been praised as a feel-good, hole-in-one, and perfect comfort viewing since its release, has swiftly become a summertime must-watch for Apple TV+ members.
Creator Jason Keller said, “I am humbled and inspired by the audience’s response to Stick, and I am excited to be making a second season with this magical cast, led by the incomparable Owen Wilson.” But more than anything else, this season two order will provide me a compelling reason to play even more golf. Apple TV+, thank you.
“It’s really nice to see the show connecting with people and to know that we get a chance to continue the story,” Wilson said, echoing the excitement.
The ensemble cast from season one, which includes Marc Maron, Mariana Trevio, and Lilli Kay, will return, and season two is expected to bring new characters.
Additionally, broadcasters Jim Nantz and Trevor Immelman, as well as golfers Collin Morikawa and Keegan Bradley, have made appearances on the show.
As Pryce Cahill’s journey progresses, Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+, praised the creative team and promised series fans plenty more.
The emotional, quirky comedy’s breakthrough debut was capped off Wednesday with the release of the season one finale, D à Vu All Over Again, which is currently available for streaming worldwide.
