The girl is a part of their close-knit community, according to Tilak Niroula, chairman of the Harrisburg Bhutanese Community Board. He added with sincerity that the girl was a light in the life of everyone who knew her, full of joy, innocence, and potential.
According to Niroula, the community she was so kindly a part of and our hearts are deeply empty as a result of her abrupt and untimely departure. During this unfathomably trying moment, our entire community is grieving with the family.
Ten lifeguards rescued the toddler from the wave pool at The Boardwalk; the child’s name has not yet been made public. She died despite efforts to save her life at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and on the scene.
The public and media were requested by the Bhutanese community to respect the privacy of the family.
“We are united in our mourning and committed to standing with the family in love, prayer, and support,” Niroula said, adding that words cannot adequately express the depth of our pain. May her family find strength and solace in the support of those around them, and may her soul rest in eternal peace.
As the girl’s family grieves their loss, the community is now coming together to help them emotionally and spiritually.
