Harrison James Miller Sentenced For Sexually Abusing Kids
After sexually abusing two youngsters, a registered sex offender who relocated from Pennsylvania to Maryland will serve decades in jail, according to authorities.
The penalty was made public by the Department of Justice on Monday, July 28.
Harrison James Miller, 32, of Hagerstown, pleaded guilty to sex assault charges involving two minors and was given a sentence of 37 years in prison and lifetime supervised release.
Miller’s plea states that following a conviction in Pennsylvania involving an 8-year-old child, he was required to register as a sex offender.
Miller moved to Hagerstown in August 2022 after being released from prison, but he failed to register as a sex offender as required by law.
Miller allegedly obtained access to two children, aged four and five, while in Maryland and sexually assaulted them over a period of several months, according to the prosecution.
Miller also shot pictures of the kids, which he kept on his phone in a password-protected folder. After one of the kids told a parent about the assault, he was taken into custody.
According to officials, the secret photos and other evidence were discovered during a later examination of Miller’s phone.
Miller entered a guilty plea to two charges of committing a felony crime involving a kid by a registered sexual offender and sexually exploiting a child.
