Kelly Brown Charged After 3-Year-Old Dies in Maine Car

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said on Sunday, August 10, 2025, that a mother from Delaware County has been charged with manslaughter following the discovery of her 3-year-old daughter dead inside a car in Maine.

On the evening of Saturday, August 9, deputies were called to a business in Milford and found the girl’s body inside a car that belonged to her mother, Havertown resident Kelly Brown, 40, the report said. Law authorities found Brown nearby and took him into custody.

According to police, Brown and her child were the focus of a previous attempt to locate request after worried relatives asked officers to check on their wellbeing.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit North and the State Police Evidence Response Team were called in by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office to assist with processing the scene after the child’s death was verified.

To ascertain the reason and manner of death, the girl was taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy.

Around five in the morning on Sunday, Maine State Police apprehended Brown and charged him with manslaughter. While she waits to appear in the Penobscot Judicial Center, she is being detained at the Penobscot County Jail.

According to her LinkedIn page, Brown is a certified health and wellness coach and a former outreach manager who has experience working for nonprofit organizations in New York and Pennsylvania.
