According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire started in the 14900 block of Mt. Savage Road in Mt. Savage at approximately 5:47 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9.

According to investigators, Larry Thomas Snyder’s 2025 Savage BBQ food truck trailer was the source of the fire. When the fire started, the vehicle was parked adjacent to a house, and the heat from the fire spread to the house’s exterior.

The residents of the house were able to safely flee after a bystander who was picking up a family member next door noticed the fire and informed them, according to officials.

The Mount Savage Volunteer Fire Department’s 35 firefighters put out the one-alarm fire in roughly 20 minutes.

Although there were no reported injuries, the harm will be felt for a while.

However, the proprietors have announced that Savage BBQ would remain closed until further notice.

Unfortunately, we must inform you that we will be closed till further notice. Our camper was destroyed in a nighttime fire,” they added. “We want to thank everyone for understanding our situation.”

The cause of the fire is still being looked into.
