MD Dad John Dant Stranded In Nebraska After Motorcycle Crash

When one of the riders, John Dant, was gravely hurt in a collision and left stranded almost 1,200 miles from home, what started out as a cross-country motorcycle trip for a group of friends from Maryland took a tragic turn.

On July 25, Dant and six pals departed Maryland for what his friends described as the adventure of a lifetime—a motorbike excursion that took an unexpectedly devastating turn.

The original idea was to ride via the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park before arriving in Sturgis for the 85th Anniversary Rally.

However, Johnny lost control of his motorcycle and was involved in a major accident on the morning of July 28 while departing Lincoln, Nebraska. A fundraising for Dant’s family was planned by Matt Lisa DiSimone, who wrote.

Dant suffered a broken hand, bilateral collapsed lungs, and nine cracked ribs in the collision.

According to DiSimone, he then had a four-hour operation to plate his ribs and repair his lungs. He has been in the hospital for 13 days after spending four days in the intensive care unit.

According to the GoFundMe set up for Dant, physicians are hoping that Johnny’s condition will improve further and that he could be released within the next week.

His recuperation poses a new problem, though, since physicians have refused to allow him to take a plane from Nebraska back to Baltimore; instead, he will need to be transported by medical ambulance for the 19-hour journey home.

According to his pal, “this specialized transport comes at a significant cost,”

According to the GoFundMeas, Dant is a loving father of three who is keen to get back to his sons and finish his recuperation at home. Anyone who can contribute to help pay for the cross-country medical transfer is being asked to do so by his friends, family, and other riders.

“This is a brother of ours who went down on his motorcycle on his way to Sturgis,” the Baltimore Ramblers MC, who Dant is a part of, wrote on social media.

“He needs assistance returning to (Maryland) while he recovers in Lincoln, Nebraska. The expense of the ambulance ride back is really high. I would be very grateful for anything.
