Papers Left In Alaska Hotel Printer Reveal Trump-Putin Summit Secrets

According to a new report, a typical morning at a posh hotel in Anchorage took a dramatic turn when visitors discovered government documents that contained private information regarding the recent summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump.

According to NPR, three visitors to the Hotel Captain Cook, a four-star establishment close to the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson summit site, discovered eight sheets bearing US State Department insignia at approximately nine in the morning on Friday, August 15. The hotel’s business center printer was left with these pages.

The documents, which were reportedly created by US personnel and then forgotten, contained the phone numbers of US government employees as well as the exact locations and timings of the high-stakes summit meetings.

NPR’s analysis of the documents’ photos also showed a luncheon menu honoring His Excellency Vladimir Putin, which included filet mignon, halibut, mashed potatoes, asparagus, green salad, and cr me br l e.

The degree of preparation for the event was demonstrated by the fact that the papers even included phonetic guidelines for Russian names.

The incident brings up new issues regarding how confidential government data is handled at important diplomatic gatherings.
