Head-On Meriden Collision Leaves Driver Fighting For Her Life, Sends Another To Hospital

Following a severe head-on collision in Meriden that left two individuals critically hurt, a woman is fighting for her life.

According to Meriden police, a northbound car crossed the center line and collided with a minivan approaching from the opposite direction at around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, August 22, near the intersection of Research Parkway and Pond View Drive.

The car rolled over after the accident sent it off the road.

The woman remained in critical condition after emergency personnel had to cut her from the wreckage so paramedics could take her to a nearby hospital, according to authorities. The woman’s name was not disclosed by the authorities.

Officers said that despite having serious injuries, the minivan’s driver was awake and able to respond to inquiries at the site.
