Abingdon Husband Shot, Killed Wife During Late-Night Dispute: Sheriff

According to authorities, a man from Harford County is incarcerated for allegedly shooting and killing his wife inside their Abingdon home.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office reports that David Williams, 66, of Abingdon, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder after a fatal shooting that occurred in a domestic setting late on Monday, June 30.

Deputies were called to the 2800 block of Bynum Overlook Drive at approximately 10:45 p.m. in response to a shooting incident. According to the agency, when they got there, they discovered a 64-year-old woman with an upper body gunshot wound.

The woman was declared dead at the scene despite the efforts of first responders to save her life, and her husband was named as a suspect.

Deputies from the Forensic Services Unit also helped at the scene, and detectives from the Harford County Criminal Investigations Division concluded that Williams had shot the victim once in the upper torso.

Authorities said Williams was charged with first-degree murder and many firearm crimes after being brought to the Harford County Detention Center.

Following an initial hearing before a District Court Commissioner, he was detained without bond.
