Attempted Murder Suspect Opens Fire As US Marshals Serve Arrest Warrant: AG
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office reports that on Monday, July 28, a man opened fire during an attempted arrest and was shot by police in Newark.

The individual was found inside a house on Irvine Turner Boulevard close to West Bigelow Street by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, who were assisting Newark police in serving an arrest warrant for attempted murder and other offenses.
The man started shooting. The individual was hit and injured after officers fired back, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
For treatment, he was brought to University Hospital in Newark. His identity is still unknown. There were no cops hurt.
According to the AG’s office, a handgun and a rifle were found inside the house.
As required by state law for all situations involving police use of deadly force, the shooting is being investigated by the Office of Public Integrity and Accountability.
