Around 4 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, the suspect attacked the victim when she was on a northbound F train at the Jamaica 179th Street station, according to the police.
A police source claims that the assailant went up to the victim and inquired, “What are you looking at?” After responding, “I don’t want any problems,” the 29-year-old was cut across the face by an unknown sharp weapon.
According to officials, the men were strangers. The culprit left the train station following the arbitrary attack. The victim was taken by EMS to a neighboring hospital, where his status was stated as stable.
The suspect is shown in a police-released screen grab as a dark-skinned man with a beard. He was last spotted sporting a short-sleeved navy blue button-down shirt and a navy blue bucket hat.
The NYPD reports that another man was cut on a Bronx train the day after that attack, this time in the neck.
On Sunday, August 10, at 8:49 p.m., a 33-year-old man was traveling south on a No. 2 train toward the Bronx Park East station when he was reportedly attacked by 39-year-old Diana Perez during a fight, according to the NYPD. Shortly after the event, she was taken into custody.
