Baltimore Boxing Star Gervonta Tank Davis Reportedly Set For Jake Paul Netflix Fight
The Jake Paul series appears to be returning to Netflix.
Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis are about to get into a heated argument on Netflix.
Multiple rumors state that they will face “El Gallo” again, this time against Baltimore’s undefeated Gervonta “Tank” Davis, after his much-maligned “bout” against legendary Mike Tyson on the streaming site.
The two will face off in an exhibition battle on Saturday, November 15, at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, according to Ring Magazine, which broke the news first.
The bout would take place exactly one year after Paul’s divisive, controversial bout with Tyson (12-7, 7 KOs), which elicited as many jeers as it did applause from the audience and millions of Netflix users watching at home.
In a since-deleted post on X, Netflix Turkey also appeared to hint at the fight.
Ring Magazine claims that as promoters were finalizing the terms, Paul’s bout plan with Anthony Joshua fell apart.
Following a fierce fight earlier this year that ended in a majority draw, there had been rumors that Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) was considering a rematch with combatant Lamont Roach, Jr.
Apparently, those discussions turned into a heated argument with Paul that should result in “mega-bucks” for everyone.
The practicalities of the Davis-Paul battle, including the weight they will be fighting with, were not immediately made public. Paul’s career weight of 220 pounds is still up for debate, but Davis usually fights as a lightweight or junior welterweight (135–140 pounds).
Paul had previously stated that, in theory, the weight of the fight would be 195 pounds, but nothing has been verified. Davis also has a significant disadvantage in height and reach.
After the 30-year-old defeated over-the-hill former champions like Tyson, 58, and Julio Cesar Chvez Jr., who hasn’t made headlines in years, Davis stands as Paul’s biggest challenge to date.
After his bout with Tyson, Davis targeted Paul, setting the stage for the major bout in November.
The bout will not affect either fighter’s official record because it is being touted as an exhibition.
