Middletown resident Casey Williams, 47, was wanted on an aggravated assault warrant. Around 5:30 p.m., police said, he was seen walking a dog close to the 500 block of Highland Avenue by a patrolling officer. Williams escaped into a house and locked himself in the basement when he was confronted.
After securing the area, Middletown police called for help from the Dauphin County Crisis Response Team and other nearby agencies. Authorities say that Williams turned himself in without any problems and was arrested at 7:07 p.m.
Williams’ girlfriend, Middletown resident Ava Mrakovich, 27, was also inside the house. She was accused of impeding the administration of justice and impeding arrest. Before turning themselves in, the two reportedly momentarily barricaded themselves with Mrakovich’s child, according to the police.
According to court documents, the assault warrant was issued in connection with an alleged attack on June 21 in which Williams allegedly seriously injured a guy by punching him in the face close to East Emaus Street. According to the police, security footage was used to identify him. Williams was also connected to a dog bite incident that occurred in the borough on July 4.
Mrakovich and Williams were taken to the Dauphin County Booking Center to be arraigned.
