Dean Ulrich Arrested Selling Booze To Teen At Portside Grill
On Saturday, August 16, Suffolk County Police said that a bartender at a popular Port Jefferson tavern had been arrested for supplying alcohol to a minor during a police sting.
Port Jefferson’s 242 Traders Cove is home to the Portside Bar and Grill.
Investigators said that during a compliance check on Friday, August 15 at 9 p.m., Dean Ulrich, 39, of Stony Brook, provided alcohol to a juvenile. As a result, he was arrested from Portside Bar and Grill, located at 242 Traders Cove.
Officers from the Sixth Precinct Crime Section conducted an undercover investigation after receiving multiple reports regarding underage drinking in the neighborhood, according to police.
Ulrich, a Portside employee, was accused of First Degree Unlawfully Dealing with a Child.
He is expected to make an appearance later at Central Islip’s First District Court.
Police noted that during the check, a SLA investigator also issued multiple citations to the company.
An accusation is what a criminal charge is. Until a defendant is proven guilty, they are presumed innocent.
