Morgan Andrew Hippchen Stone, 44, was rendered unconscious in the street after Darrel David Nixon, 31, allegedly threw a punch outside La Catrina Lounge in Bethesda.

Weeks after his injuries, Stone passed away.

According to authorities, the attack took place in the 4900 block of Cordell Avenue at approximately 2:37 a.m. on Saturday, February 15.

Stone was discovered unconscious and suffering from significant head damage by first responders. After being taken to the hospital, he passed away on Sunday, March 9.

Detectives claim that after an argument captured on surveillance footage, Stone was attacked by another man, knocking him unconscious.

On Tuesday, April 22, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner declared the death to be a homicide due to complications resulting from blunt force head trauma.

On Tuesday, June 24, Nixon, a resident of Silver Spring, was taken into custody and accused of involuntary manslaughter. Later, he was freed after posting an unsecured bond of $10,000.
