Camden County Singer Killed In DUI Crash During Church Trip, Family Says: ‘Our Star’
The loved ones of a New Jersey woman who was well-known for her strong voice and reassuring demeanor perished in a head-on collision while attending a church retreat in Missouri.

According to her family, Esiyah H. Dixon-Waheed was the only fatality in the crash, which featured a drunk motorist with a suspended license. At the moment, she was a passenger. The crash that is said to have killed Waheed was covered by WGEM here.
Despite being from Camden, Dixon-Waheed has been residing in Minneapolis, according to her Facebook page.
In an effort to raise money to send her body home, Musa Waheed wrote, “She was our STAR.” In addition to singing, she utilized her voice as a ministry to help people deal with their sorrow and suffering.
According to the university, Dixon-Waheed graduated from Marshall, Texas’s Wiley University, an HBCU, in 2022. She participated in the school’s a cappella group and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

According to the university, Esiyah was well-known for her remarkable voice, which she used to encourage and raise others. She also appeared in the documentary 1700 Miles: A Journey to Explore Freedom and made contributions to The Freedom Film Project.
As of Tuesday, July 29, $9,000 had been raised through the GoFundMe that Musa Waheed started. Anyone who has been moved by Esiyah’s ministry or voice is asked by the campaign to assist the family in burying her infant girl.
According to Waheed, “We are in shock, stunned, and still in disbelief.” Her family is blessed to have our girl back home, thanks to everyone she has touched, ministered to, and loved.
