Ibrahem Elgebaly Arrested For Harassing, Stalking

According to police, a man from Clifton with a violent criminal past was taken into custody after he allegedly threatened the recreation director of Bergen County.

ERPD Capt. Jeff Yannacone reports that on Monday, June 16, Clifton police arrested 30-year-old Ibrahem O. Elgebaly on an active warrant out of East Rutherford.

According to Yannacone, Elgebaly is charged with threatening the East Rutherford Recreation Director by phone, email, and Facebook.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail, where he is still being held, after being charged with stalking, harassment, and terroristic threats.

Elgebaly has a history of years of run-ins with the law, according to court documents in New Jersey.

He was charged with disorderly conduct in public in Wallington in 2019. He was charged with child abuse, abandonment, cruelty, and negligence in Clifton that same year.

He was charged with harassment and criminal mischief in Clifton in September 2024, and stalking in violation of a court order a month later.

According to records, Elgebaly was charged with aggravated assault in Paterson in 2021 after allegedly attempting to cause significant bodily harm.
