On Wednesday, July 30, Luciano Frattolin, 45, entered a not guilty plea in Essex County Court to second-degree murder and concealing of a human corpse in connection with his daughter Melina’s passing.
The issue concerns a vacation in July when Frattolin reportedly transported Melina across the border between the United States and Canada. According to New York State Police, he informed the girl’s mother that they were going back to Montreal. Melina was discovered dead in a Ticonderoga pond a few hours later.
Before telling authorities that his daughter had been abducted at a rest stop, investigators think Frattolin killed her. Early on Sunday, July 20, an Amber Alert was issued in response to the claim.
Melina’s body was found in a tiny pond around midmorning, beneath a log. According to the Daily Voice, an autopsy later determined that the youngster had drowned and died from suffocation. It was determined that she was murdered.
Frattolin was sent to the Essex County Jail without bail after entering a not guilty plea while wearing jail-issued attire.
A motive for the alleged murder has not been revealed by the police. In earlier writings, Frattolin, a businessman and the creator of Gambella Coffee in Montreal, referred to Melina as his inspiration for everything.
