Michael Everett Hollingsworth Convicted Of Child Sex Abuse

The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office said Friday, June 27, that a man who sexually assaulted a child on multiple occasions over almost ten years has been sentenced to state prison.

Michael Everett Hollingsworth, 53, of Fulton Township, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a girl who was approximately 9 years old at the time of the incident and was sentenced to six to 16 years in prison with three years of probation.

On Wednesday, June 12, he entered a guilty plea to several offenses, including:

  • Two counts of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Person Less than 16 Years of Age.
  • Unlawful Contact with a Minor.
  • Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Person Less than 16 Years of Age.
  • Two counts of Statutory Sexual Assault.
  • Indecent Assault of a Person Less than 13 Years of Age.
  • Two counts of Corruption of Minors.
  • Four counts of Indecent Assault of a Person Less than 16 Years of Age.

Investigators found that between 2011 and 2020, Hollingsworth attacked the kid at two different residences: his current residence on the 100 block of Arcadia Trace in Fulton Township, and a previous location on the 1200 block of River Road in Drumore Township.

In September 2023, the adult survivor told Pennsylvania State Police that Hollingsworth, who is over 31 years older than her, started coercing her into having intercourse when she was just 9 years old.

Jennifer Ponessa, the assistant district attorney, read the case’s specifics out loud during the plea hearing. According to reports, Hollingsworth shook his head no and kept his mouth open, but he stated that he did not refute the accusations. Prior to sentencing, he likewise refused to talk.

The sentence was imposed by Judge Dennis Reinaker. Additionally, Hollingsworth is required to register with the Pennsylvania State Police for life as a sex offender.

Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick prosecuted the case. Trooper Amos Glick of the Pennsylvania State Police brought the charges.
