Dozens Rescued After Malfunction At Six Flags America In Largo Leaves Riders Stranded
After a ride malfunction at Six Flags America in Maryland left dozens of thrill-seekers trapped in midair, they received more than they had anticipated.

At 3:25 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, Prince George’s County Fire/EMS reported that technical rescue crews were dispatched to the 13700 block of Central Avenue in Largo in response to a report of passengers who were stranded on a ride.
According to officials, a total of 32 riders who were stranded on an unnamed ride were safely evacuated by personnel working with park employees, with one minor injury sustained.
EMS was to evaluate the patients, according to officials. “One patient was transported with serious but not life-threatening injuries.”
Park staff and PGFD’s Technical Rescue units assisted in completing the evacuation.
The cause of the malfunction is unknown.
