Tractor Trailer Fatal Shuts I-287 In Clarkstown

Early on Saturday, June 21, two tractor-trailers collided on the New York State Thruway, killing a driver, according to the New York State Police.

According to state police, the collision occurred at approximately 3:13 a.m. close to Exit 12 in Clarkstown, Rockland County.

Two tractor-trailers and a passenger car were implicated, according to investigators. At the scene, the passenger car’s driver was pronounced dead.

As of Saturday morning, all southbound lanes of the NYS Thruway/I-87 are still blocked at Exit 14. According to the police, a detour has been established.

Since the inquiry is ongoing, no additional information has been made public.
