56K Remington Hair Dryers Recalled For Electrocution Risks

Because they can cause electrocution or serious harm if placed in water while connected into an outlet, more than 56,000 Remington-brand hair dryers are being recalled.

Empower Brands recalled a Remington hair dryer in August 2025.

On Thursday, August 14, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said that Empower Brands was recalling roughly 56,300 Remington hair dryers. Because the dryers lack an immersion protection feature, there is a chance that they could fall into water and cause fatalities or severe injuries.

The CPSC advises owners to unplug and cease using the dryers right away, even though no accidents have been recorded. You can get a refund if you follow the disposal guidelines and send in a picture of the hair dryer with the power cable cut in half via the company’s recall registration portal.

The three-button dryers had the words “Remington” printed in white on the side and were offered in purple with black accents. Each unit weighs around 1.5 pounds and has dimensions of approximately 8.5 inches long, 11.6 inches high, and 3.6 inches wide.

Online retailers Amazon, Target, and Walmart offered the dryers for sale. They cost $25 to $32 and were offered from March 2024 to June 2025.
